In SJRYC's first official beer can of the 2011 season, Kaptain Koch got a great start with clear air and der Wellenreiter never looked back for a 2:27 margin (corrected) victory over Dirk Kruger's Sea Raider. RESULTS

Lake is Good

With just one minor mechanical job left, der Wellenreiter Sechs is ready to get splashed for 2011! Sometime this week Jimmy's new addition to the top of the mast will be visible in West Basin. Let's just hope we can get into the slip yet this summer...

Jimmy's got the interior looking brand new and is currently putting the finishing touches on the bottom. WHO'S READY TO GO SAILING!?

Fast Forward

As they say "Time flies..." der Wellenreiter Sechs:

- is currently in first place in the St. Joseph River Yacht Club's Spring Series.

- finished 3rd in Spinnaker I of the Rhumbline Regatta

- finished 10th in PHRF 2 of the Chicago NOODs.

- is registered for the 102nd Running of the Race to Mackinac in Section 3.

W6 floats!

Jimmy and Brad, sans boom, rubbed some paint off of the bottom and did donuts in the turning basin.

Word on the street is that Jimmy is wrist deep in epoxy....2010 Sailing Season is ON!

Wellenreiter wins SJ to MC Tri-State leg, AGAIN!

After a disappointing leg 1 crossing Lake Michigan to our home port, der Wellenreiter Sechs rebounded with a first in section to Michigan City in leg 2 of the 2009 Tri-State Regatta. Marci & Chris, our friends on 'Grafitti Train', were less than a minute (corrected) behind us. RESULTS

Several members of der Wellenriter Sechs joined 'First Light' to race in Chicago over the weekend. FL finished 4th of 8 boats in the ultra competitive PHRF 1, and weekend highlights included a first in Race 5 and a HacknWheeze show. Results

2009 Chicago NOODs

Three races in three days. Storms, then no wind. Good thing the people and parties are so much fun as the W6 spent more time under power than sail this weekend. Results

Protest won. No celebration in that victory though. Our sailing sucked.

The friendly folks on "Sea-n-See" above will be racing JAM for Rhumbline.

The Wellenreiter Sechs got it's first bullet of the 2009 SJRYC Spring Series last night under absolutely gorgeous conditions.

Kaptains, crew, family and friends joined the Koenig family in celebrating Jeremy's birthday with a cookout Saturday night.

First official race of season called due to....

the forecast at 3:30pm. At 7pm winds were around 10 kts gusting to 20 on land. 'Moody Blue', the only boat to go out, reported lighter conditions on the water. The storm didn't arrive until much later in the evening.
